Pero según las especulaciones a principios de esta semana, el cuerpo de gobierno de la F1 ha concluido que no tenían ninguno una combinación lo suficientemente fuerte de ingeniería y recursos financieros.
Se cree que la decisión podría publicarse ocialmente después de la reunión ordinaria del Consejo Mundial del Deporte de Motor en Como (Italia). Internamente, se piensa que la FIA habría tomado la decisión hace una semana.

Según los rumores surgidos, la FIA ha decidido dejar desierta la decimo tercera plaza vacante de equipo para la temporada 2011. Se cree que Epsilon Euskadi, y la alianza Villeneuve/Durango, fueron los únicos aspirantes a hacer su debut en un Gran Premio el próximo año.
