El británico, anteriormente figura técnica prominente de este deporte, dejó misteriosamente a Red Bull a mitad de la temporada pasada. También ha trabajado con Williams y McLaren, y recientemente fue destituido de su cargo en Honda.
Se especuló a finales de 2009 que podría regresar este año con Ferrari o Sauber, pero el equipo suizo a comienzos de este mes dijo que su equipo técnico seguirá siendo dirigido por Willy Rampf.
Los rumores lo relacionan ahora con Campos, el nuevo participante español, o con su constructor de coches italiano, Gian Paolo Dallara.
