Alonso, que ha dado un total de 17 vueltas al largo trazado belga y ha sido de los pilotos que más han rodado, ha aventajado en 770 milésimas de segundo al piloto de McLaren Lewis Hamilton que ha terminado segundo y en un segundo y 284 milésimas al polaco Robert Kubica (Renault).
El Sauber C29 de Pedro de la Rosa ha terminado en decimocuarto lugar, mientras que el Toro Rosso de Jaime Alguersuari ha sido decimosexto.
