A través de su página de Twitter, el equipo de Woking dijo que el evento tendrá lugar en algún lugar del Reino Unido en la mañana del viernes 29 de enero de 2010.
El nuevo monoplaza continuará la tradición de los nombres de los coches del equipo de Woking y se llamará MP4-25. La designación que usa McLaren de «MP4» se remonta a 1980, cuando Ron Dennis fusionó su empresa, Proyecto 4, con el equipo de Fórmula 1.

McLaren anunció el jueves que el monoplaza con el que disputará el campeonato de 2010 será presentado el 29 de enero.
