Poco después de Navidad se comenzó a hablar de que el evento de presentación tendrá lugar a finales de este mes en Stuttgart, y más probablemente el sitio elegido sea el museo de Mercedes Benz en Untertürkheim.
En su última edición del miércoles, la revista también reveló que el coche se llamará «Mercedes-Petronas RB1», llevando las siglas «RB» en alusión al jefe del equipo, y antiguo dueño de la escudería, Ross Brawn.
Todavía está sin decidir si será Michael Schumacher o Nico Rosberg el que inicie los entrenamientos de pretemporada en Valencia el día 1 de febrero.
